They're always the more customizable weapon (due to their materia slots) but they're rarely best-in-slot, so they're baRun all your roulettes every day, use poetics for anima/zeta/resistance stuff, and use astronomy for EW stuff. Whenever you can get / expect level 50 or below content in a roulette, swap to a zeta light farm relic when available. This is big for MSQ roulette, and all the inevitable CT alliance raids.

I recently (about 2 months ago) finished every ARR relic in the game and the answer is AURUM VALE. Tam-tara has really unpleasant walls that require you to interact with crap. You can run the entirety of Aurum Vale by only attacking 6 monsters and nothing else. Having done every weapon, I'm now pretty efficient at speed running it on every job. The ARR relic grind has already been nerfed as far as the devs are going to do it at this point. Pre-Heavensward launch, those weapons were endgame, and each step was much harder.
